Highway
Several important highways run through Hattiesburg:
Interstate 59 runs north to Meridian where it converges with Interstate 20 which runs east to Birmingham. I-59 runs south to Slidell, LA where it connects with Interstate 10, providing a route to New Orleans.
U.S. Highway 11 runs parallel to Interstate 59.
U.S. Highway 49 runs north to Jackson and south to Gulfport.
U.S. Highway 98 runs west to Natchez and east to Mobile.
